Thursday night in Midlothian was the last time to suit up and put on the pads for the Trojan seniors. Leading up to this season, they had never tasted victory and had had more than their share of setbacks along the way. For those that stuck to it and stayed the course, they were rewarded with not only the taste of victory but experienced winning on three different occasions.
They knew that going out on a winning note would be a tall task facing a Panther team that was (7-2; 5-2) on the season and gearing up for the playoffs.
Midlothian's defense looked as if they were in playoff mode a week early as University had difficulty extending drives all night due to the Panthers swarming around the football. University trailed by only 8 at the end of the 1st after they closed the gap on a 20 yard pass to Gibson.
Midlothian got it rolling in the 2nd frame scoring three times and taking a 35-6 lead into the half.
The second half saw the Panthers outscore the Trojans, 10-6 to make the final margin, 45-12. The Trojan's lone score came late on a Shelby Lee touchdown run.
Trojan QB, Arechiga, finished the game 7 of 14 for 94 yards.
Seniors, you'll be missed! Once a Trojan, always a Trojan!
