Waco ISD High School Jazz musicians win big at the All-Region Auditions on October 17.

Students from both University and Waco High submitted entries into this year's Region 8 competition.

The following were selected as some of the top Jazz musicians in our Region:

University-

Javier Alvarado: 1st Chair Region Jazz Orchestra; Advancing to Area

Sierra Martinez: 5th Chair Jazz Ensemble

Alejandro Vasquez: 3rd Chair Jazz Ensemble

Agustin Jaimes: 1st Chair Jazz Orchestra; Advancing to Area

Jaylon Alley: 1st Chair Jazz Orchestra; Advancing to Area

Waco-

Ivan Lorenzo: 2nd Chair Tenor Trombone Jazz Orchestra; Advancing to Area

Mauricio Rivera: 2nd Chair Tenor Trombone Jazz Ensemble

Damian Zuniga: 1st Chair Bass Trombone Jazz Ensemble; Advancing to Area

Darius McLin: 2nd Chair Jazz Ensemble
