Week 11 - Lions look to next year with 55-17 season ending loss

Lions look to next year with 55-17 season ending loss The Waco High seniors suited up one last time Friday night to try and bookend wins on the 2018 campaign but the Kangaroos had plans of their own. With a win over the Lions and a Cove loss, the Roos would find themselves playing football next week in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The Lions wanted nothing more than to spoil the Roo party, especially in their own back yard.

Killeen jumped out to three first quarter touchdowns and the Lions could never close the gap as the Roos coasted to a 55-17 victory.

Randy Carpenter gave yeomen effort for the Lions in the loss and set up one of the Lions two touchdowns with a long run and scoring from six yards out on the other. Chris Esqueda tacked on a field goal in the waning seconds to complete the scoring.

The Lions end the season (1-9; 0-8) and will look to the underclassmen moving forward. Cove defeated Temple, thus eliminating Killeen (5-5; 4-4) from the playoffs and ending their season.
