Waco ISD Students Win 3rd Place at National History Day
Waco ISD is proud to celebrate Katarina Telep, Emma Clark-Martinez, and Finley Ritter for their 3rd place win at National History Day!
They were one of the six teams, from a group of 23, who made it to the finals at the state competition in Austin, Texas in April 2023.
The theme for the competition this year was, "Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas.” This talented group won 1st place in the State Junior Group Division for their performance of, "Is There a Doctor in the House? The Tale of Dr. Sara Josephine Baker and Typhoid Mary!This win secured their spot in the national competition that was held at the University of Maryland, College Park, from June 11 through June 15. Telep, Clark-Martinez, and Ritter represented Waco ISD well and won 3rd place in the National History Day competition in Junior Group Performance for their performance of "Is There a Doctor in the House? The Tale of Dr. Sara Josephine Baker and Typhoid Mary!"
