  • The mission of Communities In Schools (CIS) is to "surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life". We at CIS believe that keeping youth in school is not just the role of teachers or the school, but is really a community effort. 

    CIS is the largest dropout prevention program in the state and has the ultimate goal of ensuring academic success. CIS focuses on academic support, parent and family engagement, health and human services, supportive guidance and counseling, college and career readiness, and enrichment activities.
