Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Misheal Coburn
My name is Misheal Coburn and I will be the BASE teacher for the 2019-2020 school here at Indian Spring Middle School. I was born and raised in Temple, and I currently live there with my husband Shawn. Shawn and I have been married eleven-years and have 3 fur babies (2 cats and a dog). I am the oldest of two, and my husband is the second of eight. Between us we have 22 nieces and nephews. I have a Bachelor’s in both Elementary Education and Special Education; a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction; and I am currently working on my doctorate in Special Education. I will be a triple alumni of Grand Canyon University when I finish my doctoral studies.
I love learning and teaching, which is why I became a teacher. Passing on what my former teachers taught me is a dream of mine, and it has come true. I have been a licensed teacher for the past three years, and a paraprofessional before that. I was at Rogers High School as a Special Education Inclusion teacher. I cherish all that I learned from that role. As a paraprofessional I was in the behavior unit and I adored my time there, but it was not meant for me to enter the field as a licensed teacher at that time.
I am glad to be a part of Indian Spring Middle School in this role. I look forward to working with all of the children in some capacity, even if it is just saying hello in the hallways.
Let’s have a great year! Go Bulldogs!
