I can honestly say that I am a Dean Highland Dragon through and through. I have spent my entire educational career here at Dean Highland Elementary serving our students, staff, families and community. I joined the staff as a third grade teacher where I spent many years setting high expectations that each of my students met. I then joined the leadership team as an Instructional Specialist where I was able to work with both students and staff while continuing to set those high expectations. In the 2016-2017 school year, I joined the Administrative Team as an Assistant Principal. I know about all the things that make Dean Highland great, and that’s why I am proud to call this place home.
I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to serve our students, staff, families and community.

Dr. Nancy Dominguez
Biography: Greetings! My name is Dr. Nancy Dominguez, and I am an assistant principal at Dean Highland Elementary this school year! I am also certified bilingual with the ability to effectively communicate in English and Spanish. 2022-2023 marks the beginning of my 16th year in education, and I am excited to be a Dean Highland Dragon! I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2008 and my master’s degree from Tarleton State University in 2011. Most recently, I graduated with my doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Tarleton State University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I thoroughly enjoy working with various stakeholders in order to help all students reach their full potential. On a personal note, I have been married to an amazing husband and father, Justin, for over a decade. Together, we have been blessed with two sweet and energetic boys, Aaron, who is an active and athletic 11-year-old, and Andrew, who is a courageous four-year-old.
My Why: The primary reason I became an educator is to support all students, especially those students who are unable to self-advocate. My hope is for all of our students to be educated and productive members of society. I firmly believe in the power of education and know firsthand how positively impactful receiving a solid education can be. As Brian Tracy said, “It doesn’t matter where you are coming from. All that matters is where you are going.” Let’s go, Dragons!
