• Parents and students of Brazos High School,

We want to say thank you so much to those students who came up to school last week to complete their STAAR test, we know that you did your best and we wish you the best of luck! Students, if you missed your test you can still come up this week, December 14th through December 18th at 8:30 a.m. to complete any STAAR test that you may have missed this week! As of December 16th, the state locked the English I and English II STAAR tests. However, the other exams are available: Algebra, Biology, and US History. Just a reminder that STAAR testing is still going on per TEA decision and during Covid-19, this is a state requirement for graduation. All testing is done online and our campus is following all CDC guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy during testing! We look forward to seeing you next week, have a great weekend!

    • Brazos High School is an alternative high school designed to provide a flexible, self-paced learning environment for students.  Our program enables students to recover credits in all subject areas, through a computer based instructional program that is aligned to the student’s graduation plan.  Students are registered into our half-day or full-day program based on credits earned. Half-day students attend from 8:30am-12:30pm and our full-day track students attend 8:30pm-3:30pm.  Due to the school being a “choice”, transportation is provided to and from our 2 main high school campuses, Waco High School and University High School.

  • We would like to send a shout out to our Adopt-A-School Partner, Extraco Bank, for coming to campus to educate our students about financial literacy. During our lunch hour, Extraco representatives Krista and Dustin played a fun game of "Jeopardy," where students were able to answer questions about financial literacy and win prizes. Throughout the game, Krista and Dustin also explained the dos and don'ts of financial planning and gave advice on how to be money saavy. Thanks, Extraco! people standing with a board behind them

  • Restorative Practices has been heavily implemented this school year, spearheaded by our Restorative Discipline Facilitator Mr. Chris Wilson. Restorative practices foster an environment of belonging instead of exclusion, a method of building deep meaningful relationships, a tool for repairing harm, an alternative to punitive discipline and a learned behavior that is healthy for every person to embody. Brazos High/Lake Waco Acceleration Academy is skilled at using innovative restorative practices to create safe spaces on campus through violence prevention, circle process, restorative conversations and empathy development by listening to all issues involving the student, their families, friends, community and all stakeholders.
