• University High School is committed to a safe and secure learning environment for all of our staff and students.  We work closely with our school district's police department and other support services to be prepared for a variety of situations that may happen on or off campus.

Our school has an active Crisis Response Team, uniformed and armed certified police officers on campus, as well as a well trained security staff. Our Emergency Operations Plan is updated yearly and on file with our WISD Police Department and complies with all requirements for state and federal standards.

We practice a variety of drills over the course of the school year, such as fire drills, lockdowns, reverse evacuations, shelter in place, and severe weather. We also partner with organizations in our community to ensure we have real contingencies in place if we have to leave our campus.

In addition to all of this, we have a superintendent and cabinet that are committed to supporting us 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Our community should feel secure in knowing that our district plans, practices and trains at all levels to ensure we have the kind of schools that are not safe and security, but ones where excellent learning can take place.

If you ever have questions about safety and security at our campus, please contact us directly.  We will more than happy to meet with you.
