Teaching and Learning Strategic Direction 

The Waco ISD Teaching and Learning Department empowers every educator to deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction that ensures academic success for all students.  We cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by designing systems that guarantee a viable curriculum, data-driven instruction and responsive interventions across all grade levels and content areas. 

Through intentional collaboration, aligned professional development, and fidelity to our instructional frameworks, we accelerate student growth and elevate campus performance.  Our collective focus on literacy, mathematics, science and social studies, fine arts and advanced academics ensures students experience a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life.

Coordinate and monitor multi-tiered systems of academic and behavioral support that ensures accelerated growth for every learner.

Strengthen K-12 literacy and mathematics through consistent implementation og high-quality instructional materials and lesson internalization and aligned secondary supports to improve CCMR outcomes. 

Strong and Balanced Programs:

Develop and support robust programs in science, social studies and fine arts that promote inquiry, creativity, and global understanding while advancing interdisciplinary connections. 

Advanced Academics Coursework:

Expand access to advanced coursework, dual credit, and enrichment opportunities that challenge students to reach their full potential and prepare them for postsecondary success.
