TEFA Information Request

Special Education Request for Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) Program

Waco ISD is committed to supporting our students with disabilities and their families. To ensure we provide the most accurate information and follow the latest guidance from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), we have streamlined the process for requesting and accessing special education records.

Requesting Information for TEFA

If your child was evaluated and/or has an IEP for Waco ISD, please follow the steps below:

  1. Complete the Official Request Form: Please fill out the TEFA Request for Special Education Information form to submit your request. This form allows us to verify your identity and ensure we are following FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and TEA guidelines for the protection of student data.
  2. Required Documentation: Once we receive your form, our staff will reach out to guide you through any necessary next steps.

Our next steps: Accessing and Uploading IEP and FIIE Records

In according with TEA requirements, our district utilizes systems to ensure parents have access to their child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and FIIE reports.

  • Secure Uploads: For families seeking to participating in the TEFA programs, the district will upload the child's current IEP or FIIE directly to the TEA-mandated systems.
  • Timeline: We strive to process all requests in a timely manner. Per TEA guidelines, evaluations and record uploads follow specific state-mandated windows. For current EFA applicants, please ensure your request is submitted well in advance of the TEA application closing date.
