Mission

To improve student achievement through district and campus parental involvement, the effective use of compensatory budgets, and monitoring supplemental services for students.

Services and Responsibilities

  • ESEA Parent Advisory Committee Meetings

  • Provide guidance to campuses for identification of students at risk of dropping out of school

  • Collaborate with Offices of Human Resource and Professional Development assuring hiring of appropriately certified Teachers and highly qualified Instructional Paraprofessionals

  • Collaborate with private nonprofit schools pertaining to federal grant submissions

  • Submit, monitor, amend and file compliance reports for assigned TEA grant applications

  • Provide policy guidance to district and campuses in use of state and federal compensatory budgets

  • Oversee compliance of compensatory programs

Title I

The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.


State Compensatory Education (SCE)

The goal of the SCE program is to provide additional resources to reduce any disparity in performance on assessment instruments or disparity in the rates of high school completion between educationally disadvantaged students, at-risk students, and all other students. 

The purpose of the SCE program is to increase academic achievement and reduce the dropout rate for these students by providing supplemental programs and services.
