Milissa Johnson, M. Ed.
Milissa Johnson, Emergent Bilingual Coordinator, has been with Waco ISD since the 1993-1994 school year. She has her Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University and her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University. Professional certifications include Elementary Self-Contained 1-8, Early Childhood Education, English as a Second Language PK – 8, Biology 1-8, Reading 1-8, and Gifted and Talented.
Milissa began as a PK teacher with PK Center in Waco ISD. She has taught PK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. She has been a reading interventionist, ESL pull-out teacher in grades PK -5, and Dylsexia teacher. Milissa also spent 5 years as the LPAC chair for her campus and coordinated TELPAS. In 2011 she began her position as ELL Content Specialist where she brought her many years of LPAC, ESL, TELPAS and Reading experience with her.
Milissa has 4 children, Ashley, Alex, Stephanie and Luke. She loves to spend time with family, water recreation and all out of doors activities, travel, attending sporting activities and the Baylor Bears.
