Teen Pregnancy and Parenting Services
Mission
To empower pregnant and parenting students within Waco ISD to take advantage of equitable support/resources needed to complete their secondary education, while equipping them to be college and career-ready with marketable skills that build sustainability for their young family.
Program Overview
With the support of the Teen Pregnancy and Parenting Services program, Waco ISD students can continue on their education track without interruption, while preparing for the road ahead toward graduation, career and/or post-secondary studies.
Services include:
- Social and community health services
- Homebound services (as applicable)
- Crisis intervention
- Parenting education
- Individual and group counseling
- Job readiness and career counseling, to include job obtainment
- Child care assistance through EOAC district partnership
- Transportation assistance for students with children registered through the EOAC partnership
Who is eligible for services?
Any pregnant female and/or parenting female/male student enrolled in Waco ISD is eligible for services. Student enrollment into the program is voluntary, and the student must be willing to participate.
Compensatory Education Home Instruction
(CEHI) is a state-mandated support service for school districts. It is designed to provide academic services to eligible students at home when complications of pregnancy prevent the student from attending school and also during the postpartum period.
