"I joined the school board because I love this community and the kids in it. My 12 years as an educator in WISD along with my 7 years as a director of a local mentoring organization gave me a front row seat to the phenomenal intelligence, wit and grit in our district and I want to play my part in helping this district shine! I have a deep seated belief in the greatness of our educators, our community and most importantly our kids.
On the school board if I can help level the path and clear the road for our district to shine, that's what I want—to roll my sleeves up and do!"
"A value that I have taught my children is that you give back to the the community that has poured into you. This is why I wanted to serve the school district in which I graduated from. I chose to serve on the school board because I wanted to create better opportunities for all students. My children benefitted from the many programs that Waco ISD had to offer. I wanted to ensure that we continue to grow in the opportunities that we have to offer our students, faculty, and staff. As a Spanish-speaking immigrant, it's important that I represent a community that is continuously growing and becoming a larger part of our Waco ISD Family."

"I am committed to equipping students with both strong academic and leadership skills. My focus has always been literacy and providing a safe learning environment for all students. My goal is to empower students to become successful working adults capable of supporting themselves and their families.
Through my service on the school board, I believe in ensuring a learning environment where students can thrive intellectually and personally, preparing them for the challenges of the future.
Serving on the school board allows me to be a champion for positive change, working towards a holistic education that goes beyond the walls within our schools or even our city. I strive to collectively create a district that our students can point to as the reason they went beyond!"

"As a life-long educator, I know that a quality education can open doors! Opportunities to learn, explore, and achieve goals help make well-rounded students into productive citizens.
Serving on the board allows me to support students, teachers, and families to foster these opportunities. Coming up through the ranks from teacher to campus administrator, I learned just how important the school board is to a healthy community. It is my honor to serve."
"If you have never seen a child go from not being able to read one week to reading the next week, it is an indescribably beautiful moment in time. A life changing moment, probably long forgotten in our own lives, that a teacher is responsible for. When that lightbulb finally turns on for a student, no matter what the subject is, it is like witnessing a miracle... truly. It has always made me sad that more people don't realize that these miracles happen every day across all of our campuses. I believe that as we are able, we all have a responsibility to serve others. It has not always been easy, but my brief time on the board has been filled with gratitude knowing that I have been given the opportunity to serve such an incredible group of students, educators, and parents."

"Public school educators formed my character and beliefs as much as anyone outside my nuclear family.
They unknowingly nurtured me through tragic times and celebrated me when appropriate. I was blessed to witness this same profound engagement from WISD educators and my children. Eager to find a way to support and say "thank you," I found serving on the school board would be the most effective way to advocate for our teachers and students. The front-line perspective we've been afforded has only increased my awareness for our community to surround and nurture Waco ISD. Our students will be the backbone of our great city in the coming years. The welfare of Waco will be so much stronger if her teachers and students are nurtured and celebrated the way I was in my most formative years."
