Larry Carpenter took the helm of the Fine Arts department after serving the district in a variety of roles for 20 years. In the course of his educational career, "Carp" has been Director of Theatre, Fine Arts Department Chair, Assistant Principal, Principal, Assistant Director of Advanced Academics, Director of Elementary Advanced Academics and now Director of Fine Arts.

Carpenter has his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University.

He is a member of TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association), TAEA (Texas Art Education Association), TxETA (Texas Educational Theatre Association), TTAO (Texas Theatre Adjudicators and Officials) where he serves on the Standards and Practices Committee, TMAC (Texas Music Administrators Conference), TTAC (Texas Theatre Administrators Conference), and TAGT (Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented) where he served as the Chair of the Education Committee. Additionally, he has served on UIL Academic committees, is a TTAO Adjudicator and Contest Manager, and has presented at many local, state, and national conferences.
