A Message from the Dean

  • Greetings, my name is Dr. Dale McCall and I am the Dean of the Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy (GWAMA).Dale McCall

We are beginning our 5th year at GWAMA with our Welding Academy, the 3rd year with our Precision Metal (Machining) and Electronics & Robotics Academies and 2nd year with our Construction Science Academy.

The students at GWAMA come from 14 different area high schools, and we have increased our student count to over 200 students this academic year. Students are eligible to attend GWAMA during their 10th grade (sophomore), 11th grade (junior), or 12th grade (senior) year.

During the next couple of months, I will be highlighting each academy and informing the community and area partnering districts what their students are accomplishing at GWAMA. The opportunities to learn workforce skills and technical skill sets are what we offer all our students. The primary goal at GWAMA is to provide our students with the skillsets and education to be successful in the workplace. This may be right after high school or after they have completed post-secondary educational training. We offer dual credit opportunities at GWAMA with Texas State Technical College and McLennan Community College, and our students are offered the opportunity to complete three industry certifications while at GWAMA.

We are excited about the 2018 - 19 academic year and look forward to hearing from you. If you need to contact me, you can use the form below or call 254-412-7900.
