"EVERYWHERE LEARNING"

Hillcrest Professional Development School (HPDS) is a fine-arts magnet school that focuses on art, music and performance.

At HPDS, students experience learning through field trips to places in Waco, outside of Waco and sometimes out of Texas. Through journaling, scripting and being provided the chance to perform on stage, work backstage, run stage lights and handle props, students bring learning to life.

Also, HPDS is Waco ISD's first Professional Development School in collaboration with Baylor University. With Baylor Education students in the classrooms, HPDS students experience smaller student-to-teacher ratios and are exposed to co-teaching. In collaboration with a Baylor Professor and PDS Coordinator, our classroom teachers, our students and the Baylor Education students all work together to create a productive and synergetic learning environment.
