Academic
competitions, higher test scores, and dedicated,
caring teachers combine to reflect excellent
teaching and learning at WHS. A strong
emphasis on high achievement through instruction has
led to an increase in Dual Credit and Advanced
Placement classes. Trainings for the SAT and
ACT are offered to WHS students online through the
Princeton Review. These programs, along with
many others, provide students with college
preparation and career/technology training.
Everyone

student body and staff are a reflection of the best

(Go Center)
Mr.
Harris is a WISD graduate of University High School
Class
of 2004.
Mr. Harris attended McLennan Community College then
he later graduated from Baylor University in 2008
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. He is
currently employed with the Texas Higher Education
Board as a college prep director for the students in
WISD.
The College Center
at Waco High is known as the “Go Center”. The
College Center is at Waco High this year and focuses
on helping students find information regarding
colleges and scholarships. Mr. Harris also assists
students with preparation for the ACT, SAT and PSAT
tests.
The College center
is here for all parents and students to help find
the right Community College or University. To help
with this the GO Center has various events planned
this year for the staff and students of Waco High
School. Student success in post secondary education
is our priority and our goal!
A personal goal of
Mr. Harris is to help every senior be accepted to
four or more Community Colleges or Universities.
