Students are required to wear combinations of approved colors and styles of clothing as recommended by the Campus Decision Making Committee (CDMC). The adopted Standard Mode of Dress (SMOD) falls within Waco ISD dress code guidelines and students are expected to comply with requirements beginning on the first day and every day of school.
Special Occasion & spirit days will be utilized frequently. The students may wear blue jeans and/or knee-length shorts on these days only when school administration notifies the parents and student body. If there is any doubt, please contact the school for verification. 753-1533
SHIRTS:
2 types of shirts are acceptable: Solid Color Button Downs or Solid Color Polo-style Shirts
*SOLID COLORS ONLY - White, Red, Black, Purple, Yellow, Green, Blue(any shades)
*COLLARS ONLY – All shirts must have a collar.
*No logos are allowed
*Shirts may have long or short sleeve (turtlenecks or t-shirts may be worn underneath SMOD shirts only)
*SHIRTS MUST BE TUCKED IN AT ALL TIMES.
PANTS/SKIRTS:
*Docker style or Capri. SOLID COLORS ONLY – Navy, White, Khaki (tan), or Black in appropriate sizes worn at waist level
*BELTS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES (if belt loops are on the garment)
*No DENIM or jean material is allowed.
*Shorts are allowed (walking shorts) Shorts must be no higher than the top of knee when worn at waist
*No frayed or torn edges on any garments
*Skirt length must be at the top of the knee when standing (No frayed edges or slits)
*Skorts (combination skirts/shorts) are allowed. Skorts must be no higher than the top of knee
*Jumpers are acceptable over a SMOD shirt. Jumpers must also be Navy, Khaki (tan) or black (no denim or blue jean material is allowed).
SHOES:
Shower shoes, flip flops or house shoes are not allowed. Shoes must have a heal or back strap.
Hair:
Hair must be a natural color for both boys and girls. Hiarcuts which are bizarre or unusual will not be allowed (such as mohawks). Lines, numbers and designs may not be carved into the hair.
OTHER ITEMS:
Hats, caps, do-rags, hair scarves and bandanas are not allowed.
Piercings are only to be in the ears. All other body-piercing jewelry is prohibited.
SWEATERS/SWEATSHIRTS:
A student may wear a sweater or sweatshirt in SOLID COLORS (White, Red, Black, Purple, Yellow, Green, Blue). No hood, logo or imprint of any kind may be visible. Collars of SMOD shirts (worn underneath) must be seen at all times.
JACKETS/COATS:
Jackets & coats may need to be removed as part of a class policy at the discretion of the teacher and kept in a designated area. If a jacket has a hood attached, it must be worn down - off the head.
The Principal has final word on any issue regarding Standard Mode of Dress that is not described in the Standart Mode of Dress document.
