Consequences

Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes!
We at University High School are committed to providing the best education for all 1200 of our students. The guidelines for dress and grooming contained in this brochure are a necessary part of creating a successful, nurturing learning environment. These guidelines are meant to complement and clarify the current Waco ISD dress and grooming guidelines contained in the Student Code of Conduct.
  • No alcohol, drugs, gang references, sexual references, or weapons are allowed on any clothing.
  • Absolutely no sagging pants.
  • No excessively tight or oversized clothing.

 

HEAD
KNEES
  • No hats, caps, hoods, doo rags, wraps, bandanas, or skull caps.
  • Jeans may be worn.
  • Piercings may be in earlobes only. No gauge or other extreme piercings
  • Pants, shorts, and skirts must be kneecap length or longer.
SHOULDERS
  • Pants and shorts styles may be pleated, flat-front, or cargo.
  • All shirts must have a sleeve. Cap sleeve, short sleeve, or long sleeve are all permitted.
  • Pants may not be saggy, excessively tight, have holes, or be frayed.
  • Shirts must be collared, turtleneck, mock neck, square neck, or portrait neckline. Female necklines must be modest.
  • Gym shorts, pajamas, or leggings are not allowed. Warm-ups must be UHS issued.
  • Clothing worn under a hoodie, jacket, or sweatshirt must be in compliance with the UHS dress code
TOES
  • T-shirts can only be a solid color or have a Waco ISD, UHS, or Baylor logos
  • Acceptable styles of footwear include: Athletic shoes, boots, loafers, dress shoes, close-toed mule styles or slides, or sandals with a back strap.
  • Hoodies, jackets, or sweatshirts must be either solid color or have a Waco ISD, UHS, or Baylor logo.
  • Heels may not be higher than 2 inches.
  • Any logo on clothing may not be larger than a 2 inch square.
  • House shoes, flip flops, shower shoes, or bare feet are not acceptable.
