Health Insurance Plans

Waco ISD is proud to offer a selection of quality health care plans for its employees. HUMANA offers the SmartSuite which consist of four different plan designs that employees may choose according to their individual needs.

Through the HMO2 plan employees will have the option of utilizing the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center network, Providence Medical Center network or the Scott and White network. The Humana HMO 2 schedule of benefits is listed in the link below.

Humana also offers three different PPO plan designs. These PPO plans will allow employees to choose between the Scott and White, Hillcrest, or Providence network. The links for the PPO plans are also below.

All major medical plans offered by Humana includes the RX4 plan providing prescription benefits through participating pharmacy provider.

Each plan also includes a vision rider. Each employee and dependent covered on any of the major medical plans can receive a full comprehensive eye exam for a $10 copay at any participating in-network provider. Eye hardware will also be available at a discounted price.

Employees who already have health insurance through another source such as their spouse, TRS- Care, Medicare, etc.... the District offers an alternative Flexible Spending Plan.

Humana Vision Plan Summary of Benefits Vision (Eye-Med) Network Providers Employees who are enrolled in any of the Humana health plans also have vision examination benefits for a $10 copay as well as discount benefits for eyewear. Currently, there are only two Optometrist in the Waco area. The two providers are: LensCrafters Richland Mall Doctor Paul E Puntney 6001 W. Waco Drive STE 16 (enter through the food court / Tilt Game Room side) Waco, Texas 76710 Phone: 399-9388 Dr. Puntney's office does exams seven days a week (Sunday - Saturday). (Must have an appointment- Must present Humana ID Card) Contact Lenses may be fitted and purchased at this location. Eyeglasses may also be purchased at LensCrafters next door to Dr. Puntney's office. The Optical Dispensary Dr. Robert Salganik 3713 Franklin Avenue Waco, Texas 76710 Phone: 752-1081 Dr. Salganik is open Monday -Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Must have an appointment- Must present Humana ID Card) Contact Lenses and Eyeglasses may be fitted and purchased at this location. Humana is working on contracting with additional providers. The two providers above also accept Superior Vision.
