Welcoming the Year of the Tiger
To welcome "the year of the tiger," 119 Waco students representing 13 elementary campuses gathered in the gymnasium at Sul Ross Elementary to celebrate the Chinese new year. The students were gathered for the Chinese festival, an annual event that culminates a semester-long unit of study of ancient China. The students, all fourth-graders enrolled in the district’s gifted and talented program, prepared for the Chinese New Year's festival by learning about the history and customs of ancient China.
