History comes to life at Tennyson
Texas History recently came to life for students at Tennyson Middle School. Former scout leader and Native American expert Hank Bloomer provided students an up close and personal view of a teepee and various artifacts used by Indian tribes who lived in Texas hundreds of years ago.
Tennyson is home to the ATLAS Academy, a school specifically designed for Gifted and Talented middle school learners. Some of the ATLAS students wore Native American attire of the particular tribe they researched. ATLAS history teacher Mary Duty enjoys giving students the opportunity to see, touch and feel what they read about on the web and in textbooks.
