Services and Responsibilities

The ELL Department assists principals and teachers with curriculum, instruction, and assessment for English Language Learners (ELLs); and works with campus staff to ensure compliance in providing services required in Bilingual and ESL programs. The department assists the district and campuses in making instructional decisions, and the gathering and analysis of data. Additional services include providing staff development, and developing lesson plans with teachers, grade levels or other departments. Other services include providing modeling for instruction and classroom managment, the consideration of linguistic accommodations for assessments, observing teaching and providing feedback, facilitating family engagement, and locating resources for campuses and teachers.
