MS Career Fair vlogoIn an effort to expose students to college and career choices as soon as possible, Waco ISD is sponsoring the second “Putting my Future in Motion” on Thursday, December 14, 2017.  It is a College and Career Fair for the district’s 1,300 eighth graders to be held next month.

Your program is invited to be part of an elite group of only 60 businesses to exhibit at this event. We are also inviting over 15 local colleges. Providing our middle school students access to colleges and careers is essential to their decision on which high school classes they choose to prepare for graduation.

Researchers have found middle schools to be a critical period for increases in career awareness, self-esteem, clearly defined goals, and motivation to persist and attain post-secondary education and training. Our goal is to expose students to options in those fields as soon as possible and give them time for internships and job shadowing.

Each college and business will be provided with two chairs and an 8-foot table with a white tablecloth. If you prefer a college-logoed tablecloth, please feel free to bring it along with any signage and college literature.

There is no charge for your exhibit space at the event.  However, if you need electricity at your table there is a $35 fee and that request must be submitted by Dec. 1.
