Lemonade Day was an activity designed to build support for our Trojan Tykes’ Pre K Lab.  We included family members, community members and local businesses to promote learning.

University High School’s Practicum in Education class wanted to leave a legacy of giving to the Trojan Tykes and this is how they did it!

The two practicum classes divided into six groups and designed Lemonade Day carts loaned to us by the athletic department.  As you can see from the pictures, each group decorated a cart and made signs for the Trojan Tykes to hold during Lemonade Day.  The Trojan Tykes also took part in this collaborative effort by painting art to sell during Lemonade Day.  Local businesses were amazing by donating items to help our cause.

We opened our stands at 9:15 on May 11, 2017.  Each stand had parent volunteers while the Trojan Tykes helped the “tall friends” (practicum students) sell lemonade. By the end of the day, we raised $1809.  All proceeds have gone into an account for the Trojan Tykes.  Mrs. Hamilton, the Trojan Tykes Pre K teacher, would love to be able to purchase a tent to cover the playground.
