Community Bank and Trust partnered with Waco High this school year to educate students on Financial Literacy in their Career Prep classes.  They provided speakers throughout the school year from various departments of the bank to discuss money matters from consumer loans to investing to building credit.  They also discussed how to balance and reconcile funds.

As a part of the program, H&R Block provided an on-line simulation module to help students develop applicable budgeting skills.  During the on-line simulation, students took comprehensive quizzes testing their financial literacy.  They were also awarded points according to how often they logged in, paid bills in a timely manner, and how they scored on the quizzes.  This program gave the students the tools to test their real-world skill set.

Winners

Today, cash prizes were awarded to the top 3 performers of the H&R Block simulation from each Career Prep Class.    First place received $150, 2nd place received $100, and 3rd place received $50.  The winners had the opportunity to tour Community Bank and Trust, and were treated to lunch after they received their prize money.  Thank you to Community Bank and Trust for helping make this amazing opportunity possible for the students at Waco High School!
