Mr. Perez’s 2nd Grade bilingual class at Crestview Elementary has quite the love for reading. Each book the students read has a value of ½ to 1 point in the Accelerated Reader Program.
The Accelerated Reader Program is a program that tests reading comprehension, and students select books based on their reading level. Once they have completed the book, they then take a computerized individual comprehension test.
Mr. Perez’s class reached 1000 points earlier this month, and today one of the school’s Adopt-a-School Partners, H-E-B on Wooded Acres, threw them an ice cream party in celebration of this awesome achievement.
Mr. Perez is actually the first teacher at Crestview Elementary to hit the 1000-point mark at this stage of the school year.
Many thanks to H-E-B for the yummy afternoon treat and congratulations to Mr. Perez and his students on this wonderful accomplishment!
