Thirty-one Waco High students, including defending National Champion Harper Hoover, will be part of a WISD contingent competing in the Regional History Fair Friday at Baylor University.
Hoover won a national title last year as an 8th grader, and will compete as a freshman in a different category. The young WHS team has only one senior.
Students from Tennyson and Cesar Chavez Middle Schools will also be performing.
Entrants can choose from eight different types of categories to try to advance to the state level. Nationwide more than 500,000 students compete in National History Day events each year, teaching them critical thinking, writing and research skills and boosting their performance across all subjects.
