The Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized a group of outstanding teachers at Waco High with a hot breakfast, a nice certificate and a few words of thanks.

In order to decide which teachers they would honor, the CTHCoC asked Waco High students to submit essays on how their teachers inspired them. Our Waco High Lions roared loud and proud in response.

163 Waco High students took personal time to write one hundred word or less essays describing how their favorite teacher inspires them everyday.

Their words came straight from the heart and captured the pride, love and care that teachers pour into every student who enters their classroom.

Approximately 50 teachers were chosen to be honored with the breakfast hosted by the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The top ten were chosen by the chamber board and were recognized with a Top Ten Teacher award.

The event was sponsored by Stripes, Oncor, Community Bank & Trust and Sam's Club, along with the Chamber. Board Chairman John Montez gave out the awards.
