Waco ISD will hold five public forums in January to gather input about plans to close and consolidate schools as a cost savings measure. The district, which lost $5.5 million in state revenue this year, is expected to lose an additional $3.4 million in 2012.
The forum schedule is as follows:
Thursday, January 5, 6:30 p.m., Waco High School Performing Arts Center
Monday, January 9, 6:30 p.m., University High School Performing Arts Center
Tuesday, January 10, 6:30 p.m., Cesar Chavez Middle School (Spanish program)
Wednesday, January 11, 6:30 p.m., A.J. Moore Academy Lecture Hall
Thursday, January 12, 6:30 p.m., G.W. Carver Academy Cafeteria
The forums will be facilitated by the Waco Chapter of League of Women Voters.
