Jonatha Edison grew up in poverty in the slums of Detroit and could have given up on life from the very beginning. His mother was removed from his home for abusing drugs and alcohol. His father left when he was 7 and his grandmother that took on the task of raising him, died from breast cancer when he was 14.
Faced with homelessness, despair and uncertainty, Edison graduated from high school with a 1.6 grade point average. He said his GPA would have been even lower, if not for good grades in his meat cutting course that also taught him a skill from which he would later benefit.
Today, Jonathan is an international motivational speaker, holds three college degrees, and is the author of 5 best-selling books. He currently studies psychology at Harvard University.
