Organization raises $37K for graduating seniors
Since 1950, the Waco City Council of PTA has been conducting a scholarship drive to assist Waco ISD graduates in their college pursuits. Holding true to its mission of supporting Waco ISD, the WCCPTA has awarded more than 1,200 scholarships totaling approximately $1.3 million.
This year, WCCPTA raised more than $37,000 to add to its already impressive total. The annual "Scholarship Coffee" was held on Tuesday, May 22, as part of the monthly principals' meeting. Entertainment was provided by the Hillcrest PDS choir.
