Goal:
Provide overall instructional leadership for development and establishment
of high academic standards to ensure attainment of District's vision. Improve
the quality of education of WISD students by providing support to campus administrators
in the development, implementation, and assessment of instructional programs
in collaboration with the Director of Elementary Education and the Superintendent
of Schools.
Instruction:
To include conducting regular classroom visitations that provides ongoing monitoring
and evaluation of the instructional program. To utilize the evaluation of the
instructional programs to develop effective, district wide professional development/in-service
programs as well as instructional orientation of new teachers at the high school
and middle school level. Collaborate with principals in the planning, implementation,
and evaluation of effective programs of supervision and evaluation.
Provides guidance in the selection and use of textbooks and instructional materials.
Assists in the recruiting, interviewing, screening, and recommending of qualified
candidates for positions on the high school and middle school professional staff.
Assessment:
Monitor tested skill areas and proficiencies for student achievement and success
on state mandated assessments and district wide testing.
Parent/Community Relations:
Work with parents/guardians to build confidence through dialogue and engagement
towards the development and acceleration of their child's emotional, social
and academic growth.
Grants/Reports:
Prepare and submit State reports for DEPA, No Child Left Behind, ESL/Native
Language, Immigrant Students, Professional Development as well as assists in
the preparation of budgets for high school and middle school instructional materials.
