Marshall Tekell, a senior at Waco High School, has been named to the 2014 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the highest honors a high school student can receive. Scholars are selected for their superior academic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in school and community activities.
Nationwide, more than 3,000 students were named to the program. A distinguished panel of educators will review these submissions and select 560 semifinalists in April. Then, in May, approximately 100 students will be named finalists. Finalists will be invited to Washington, D.C., in June to receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion.
Marshall is the son of Angela and David Tekell.
