To provide effective communications for WISD which ultimately result in mutually beneficial relationships between parents, students, staff, taxpayers, media and the district.

Services and Responsibilities

The Communications Department provides district news and information to customers and employees using a variety of mediums. The department is responsible for the ongoing development and updating of the district website. Other services include the operation of WISD-TV, a 24-hour educational access cable television channel available on both Time-Warner Cable and Grande Communications. Publication services include newsletters, brochures, news releases, annual reports, and an electronic newsletter of school board action. Additional responsibilities include media relations, open records requests, maintaining social network sites, crisis communication, and school marketing efforts.
