Advanced Academic Studies
  Purpose:

Our purpose is to promote rigor, depth, complexity and challenge for the District’s advanced and gifted learners, with the goal of providing the opportunity to produce advanced products and performances.

  Services and Responsibilities

Elementary gifted students are served through a pullout program with a gifted and talented teacher on each campus. The elementary GT curriculum emphasizes challenging enrichment as students develop creative products and performances. At the secondary level, gifted students participate in the Athens Academy, a college preparatory program that strives to prepare students through rigorous, challenging, and interesting coursework, as well as appropriate extracurricular activities. The Athens Academy offers a number of AP, dual credit, and elective classes.
