ISD Education Foundation? |

It is a nonprofit 501
(c) (3) public corporation governed by an independent board of
directors representing a cross section of our community. Established
in 1995, the Waco ISD Education Foundation is based upon the philosophy
that public education should be a collaborative effort between
corporate, community and educational interests. |

Why was the Waco
ISD Education Foundation created?
|

|
|

|
It was created to provide
funding to support programs and activities for students and teachers
that are beyond the basics of the budget in the Waco ISD. The
Waco ISD has developed a quality educational program that provides
students with enrichment, acceleration and attention to special
needs. Sustaining excellent educational programs and services
requires technology, laboratories, cultural experiences, up-to-date
occupational and technical equipment, resource materials and,
primarily, outstanding teachers. |

| Advancing excellence in education through creative
and innovative community funding. |

| The Waco ISD Education Foundation raises money
for quality education |
| |
| The Waco ISD Education Foundation seeks to provide
funds for creative, educational programs and projects in three
focus areas: |

| Early childhood development, ages zero through
3rd grade |
| This area is targeted as
a result of research that proves that this age is crucial
in the development of the human brain. Also, there is no
state funding that specifically addresses this area of education.

| Enhanced programming and activities for advanced
students |
| Funding for "at risk" programs
is easy to obtain for our students, but it is the belief
of the Waco ISD Education Foundation that advanced students
are just as important. |

| Extended education for staff development
|
| The Waco ISD Education Foundation
is formed on the belief that the most important factor in
early learning is the teacher. Therefore, grant money is
awarded to help improve the quality of teaching within our
district.. |
